The National Neighbourhood Management Network was established to support neighbourhood partnerships who are ‘narrowing the gap’ by improving
the quality of life in communities across England. With neighbourhood working topping the current political agenda, there has never been a
better time to become involved. This is the place to meet and learn from others who are engaged in regenerating their communities, find out
the latest in policy and practice and benefit from the range of support that the network has to offer.

| what is neighbourhood management? |
The term ‘neighbourhood management’ is a broad one and it covers a variety of different approaches and initiatives. Generally, it involves
a partnership made up of residents, mainstream service providers, the local authority and other community stakeholders, working together to
influence the delivery of services into a neighbourhood so that they are more responsive to local needs. It does not involve large amounts of
money – rather using existing resources in a better way.
Some of the main services that NM partnerships work with include:
• local authority
• education providers
• police
• employment services
• children and young people’s services
• environmental services
• housing services
Currently there are approximately 300 schemes across England, funded in a variety of ways. Thirty-five ‘pathfinder’ initiatives
are funded by central government while other schemes are supported by the local authority, housing association, the police or
other organisations.

| charges and membership entitlements |
There are two types of network membership:
The charge for an individual organisation will be £475 + VAT a year. Organisations acting as an umbrella body for more than one
NM initiative such as a local authority will pay a one off charge of £475 + VAT plus an administration fee of £150 each for the
first five NM initiatives £75 for each initiative thereafter.
Full members will be entitled to attend events at heavily discounted prices. The resource pack, access to personalised support,
action teams and space to work in London are all free with full membership.
There is no up front charge for pay as you go members. Members will be kept informed of all events and be able to purchase individual
components of the membership package.
